Privacy Policy

Everyone has a privacy policy but do we actually read it? Well, I hate them, don't read them, but know I should. While I don't care for them, I do care about people collecting, using, and selling my private information. That is why I'm writing this; in words you can understand.

Artsy Parts is happy to know who visits, but we don't collect your information unless you want to give it. That is why we have a sign up form that lets you give us permission to stay in contact with you through a newsletter, and keeps you informed about events and classes you might be interested in. If you give us your email, and later decide you don't want emails from us, unsubscribe through the newsletter, or simply email us and ask to be removed from the list.

Another reason we might collect your information is so that we can analyze our own business. We are interested in knowing what people buy, or don't buy, from us. We are interested in knowing what you like about our site, and what you are not looking at. We are interested to know how you found out about Artsy Parts. We are interested in rewarding you for purchases, for being born, and for being a part of our community. Much of the information we can gather is not attached to a person with a name, per se. Analysis of this kind of information helps us understand how we are doing to achieve the goals of providing relevant information and products that bring you joy.

If you ever want to see what we know about you, just email us. If you would like to limit the information we save, or eliminate it entirely, just email us. We will remove as little or much information as you request, without question. Of course, if you know before you even start sharing, that you don't want us to collect information, go to your browser settings and turn on "Do Not Track."

In any case, and for what ever reason we collect information, we NEVER SHARE or SELL your information. And, if we ever did, we wouldn't do so without letting you know in clear, unambiguous, and OBVIOUS language. We will email you directly, and place on the web site, a notification of policy changes and their effect on you.

We always want to know what you think, need, and experience with Artsy Parts. We welcome your feedback regarding these policies, or any subject at all. At any time you can call or text (209) 736-7336, or email us at ArtsyFartsyCenter@Gmail.com

What personal data we collect & why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms
We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics
We do not share your data with anyone.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect our data:
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Cookies:
We may use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.
